Happy Mother's Day!

     We worked all week on things for our moms.  The kids filled out questionnaires about their moms.  They made cards at the writing center and created their own craft gift at the art center.  My favorite part was doing the Shrinky Dink pins.  These are so cute and capture a cool moment in time.  The kids' writing and drawing will continue to progress as they mature so it will not ever be exactly like it is now.  Here is a look at our creations.  I hope all of the moms (and a few grandmas) loved them!

The Fish Have Names!

     The kids generated a list of 10-12 suggested names for each fish during snack time just before vacation.  After the final class vote was completed, they decided on Goldy and Nate!

Our Class Pets....Who are yet to have names!

     We really need to get busy naming these guys (or girls).  They have been part of our classroom for a month and still do not have names.  We will brainstorm names and power vote to select the top choices this week. It's fun to have classroom pets!  Each week one of the kids is responsible for feeding them.  The orange one always acts ravenous!

Thank you to L's Grandmother!

On Wednesday, the kids had so much fun "hatching" little dinosaurs from the eggs prepared by L and his grammy.  It was exciting to see which type of dinosaur each child would get.  This was a fun project, and it tied in nicely to our current science unit.

Mischief Maker Visits our Classroom

     There was a lot of excitement in the room on St. Patrick's Day.
We had a little visitor during the night.  He left chocolate coins for the kids and messes for me EVERYWHERE!
There was green paint spilled on the table, festive confetti sprinkled all around and gold glitter glue all over the place.  The kids were still finding traces of the visiting leprechaun on Friday.  Who knew St. Patrick's Day could be so fun?  A special thanks goes to Mrs. Fisher for the fun and yummy Lucky Charms snack mix she shared with us!
